The SSN1IXCSA is a super cross-connect and synchronous timing board. The SSN1IXCSA can be used on the OSN 3500 equipment to provides service grooming and clock input/output functions.

Basic Functions Cross-Connect Unit: Provides the standard system synchronization clock.
Clock Unit: Provides the standard system synchronization clock.
Service Processing Supports the flexible service grooming and supports the fully non-blocking cross-connect, multicast, and broadcast services.
Enables the communication between the SSN1IXCSA and the other boards.
Supports the tact switch and performs the protection switching without interrupting services.
Supports the SNCP protection at the VC-4-4c, VC-4-8c, VC-4-16c, VC-4-64c, VC-4, VC-12, VC-3, and AU-3 levels.
Supports VC-4-4c, VC-4-8c, VC-4-16c, and VC-4-64c concatenation services.
Supports a maximum of 40 linear MSP groups.
Supports a maximum of 12 ring MSP groups.

Protection Schemes Supports the 1+1 Hot Backup for the Cross-Connect and Timing Units (non-revertive, by default).
