How to restore factory settings for an ONT?
Use either of the following methods to restore factory settings for an ONT:
Choose System Tools > Restore Default Configuration from the main menu on the web page and click Restore Default Configuration.
Hold down the RESET button for a long period of time (longer than 10s) to restart the ONT with factory settings.
How to change the voice protocol on an ONT?
- For the V100R006C00, V100R006C01, V200R006C00, V200R006C01, and earlier versions:
Load a software version. The C0X version determines the voice protocol used on an ONT: SIP is used if X is an even number and H.248 is used if X is an odd number.
- For the V300R012C00 and later versions:
Choose Voice > SIP/H.248 Protocol Conversion from the main menu on the web page.
Does an ONT support routing?
Query the ONT nameplate to determine whether an ONT supports routing. If "gateway HGU" is marked on an ONT nameplate, the ONT is of the gateway type and supports routing. If "bridging SFU" is marked on an ONT nameplate, the ONT is of the bridging type and does not support routing.
How to configure the Wi-Fi service on an ONT?
Configure the Wi-Fi service through web pages or TR069 servers for an ONT that supports Wi-Fi. For details, see the user manual of each ONT device.
What are default user name and password for logging in to an ONT?
The default user name and password for the administrator are telecomadmin and admintelecom, respectively. The default user name and password for common users are root and admin, respectively.
What is ONT's optical power range?
For the ONTs using GPON upstream transmission: -27 dBm to -8 dBm (Class B+); -30 dBm to -8dBm (Class C+).
For the ONTs using XG-PON upstream transmission: -28dBm to –8dBm(Class N1a); -28dBm to -8dBm(Class N2a).
Can ONT's factory password be restored?
Yes, but ONT's factory password cannot be separately restored. To restore the password, restore the ONT's factory settings. Query the ONT's password on the TR069 server or iTMS.
How to configure the voice service on an ONT?
Configure the voice service through web pages, U2000, or TR069 servers on an ONT that supports the voice service. For details, see the user manual of each ONT device.
Can an ONT connect to a switch in the lower layer to support the enterprise private line service?
No. ONTs cannot connect to a PON terminal, switch, or router in the lower layer.
Can an ONT connect to a POS machine in the lower layer?
Yes. The POS service is a type of data service, which promotes high requirements on network quality.
Can an optical port on an ONT connect to an optical port on an optical transceiver?
No. The optical port on an ONT is a PON port while the optical port on an optical transceiver is a GE port.
How many MAC addresses can an ONT learn?
How to provision the POS service on an ONT?
The method of provisioning the POS service on an ONT is the same as that of provisioning the common voice service on the ONT. For details, see the ONT user manual.
Is the Wi-Fi service affected if multiple ONTs use the same channel?
Yes. The service is affected in the same channel.
How to change a digitmap mapping mode?
Choose Voice > VoIP Basic Configuration from the main menu on the web page and configure Digitmap Match Mode.
Which ONTs support both IPv4 and IPv6?
All gateway ONTs have supported IPv4, IPv6, and DS-Lite since V200R006C00/V200R006C01.
Which ONTs support polarity reversal impulse?
All ONTs providing voice ports support polarity reversal impulse. To configure polarity reversal impulse on an ONT, choose Voice > VoIP Advanced Configuration from the main menu on the web page or configure the universal value-added service profile through the U2000.
