Item TNF6TOA
Basic functions Working modes of TOA boards and their ports TOA boards support the following port working modes:
ODU0 non-convergence mode: 8 x (125 Mbit/s to 1.25 Gbit/s) <-> 8 x ODU0 (ODU is the abbreviated form of optical channel data unit, and OTU of optical channel transport unit.)
ODU1 non-convergence mode: 8 x (1.49 Gbit/s to 2.67 Gbit/s) <-> 8 x ODU1
ODU1 convergence mode: 8 x (125 Mbit/s to 2.5 Gbit/s) <-> (1 – 8) x ODU1
ODU1_ODU0 mode: 8 x OTU1 <-> 16 x ODU0
ODUflex non-convergence mode:
5 x 3G-SDI <-> 5 x ODUflex (SDI is the abbreviated form of serial digital interface.)
4 x FC400/4 x FICON 4G <-> 4 x ODUflex (FICON is the abbreviated form of Fiber Connect.)

Cross-connect functionality

The total bandwidth is 20 Gbit/s.
Cross-connects a maximum of 16 channels of ODU0 signals or 8 channels of ODU1 signals through the backplane bus and cross-connect board.
Cross-connects a maximum of five channels of ODUflex signals by using buses on the backplane and the cross-connect board.

Protection schemes

Client 1+1 Protection

  • TNF5TOA: Supported when non-OTN services are received
  • TNF6TOA: Supported

ODUk SNCP

Supported

Tributary SNCP

Supported

LPT

Not supported

ALS

Supported on the client side when non-OTN services are received.

Synchronization

Synchronous Ethernet

Supports synchronous Ethernet processing instead of synchronous Ethernet transparent transmission when receiving GE (GFP-T) services on the client side.

Supports synchronous Ethernet transparent transmission instead of synchronous Ethernet processing when receiving GE (TTT-GMP) services on the client side.

IEEE 1588v2

  • TNF5TOA:
  •  If OTU1 services are received, the client side supports 7 x IEEE 1588v2.
  •  If GE services are received and the service mapping mode is GFP-T, the client side supports 7 x IEEE 1588v2.
  • TNF6TOA: supported if GE services are received and the service mapping mode is GFP-T.

Maintenance features

Loopbacks

  • Supports inloops and outloops on channels.
  • Supports inloops and outloops on the client side.

Pseudo random binary sequence (PRBS) test function

Supports the PRBS test function on the client side.

Test frames

Supported

Delay measurement (DM)

TOA boards support DM. Specifically, the bidirectional delay at the ODUk (k = 0, 1, or flex) PM layer between two tributary boards supporting DM can be measured, and the delay data is displayed on the NMS.

Alarms and performance events monitoring

  • Monitors bit interleaved parity 8 (BIP8) bytes (Bursty mode) to help locate line failures.
  • Monitors B1 bytes to help locate line failures.
  • Monitors OTN alarms and performance events.
  • Monitors parameters such as the bias current, operating temperature, and optical power of a laser.
  • Provides remote network monitoring (RMON) and measurement functions for Ethernet services.

OTN Overheads

The mapping process complies with ITU-T G.7041 and ITU-T G.709. TOA boards adopt the ITU-T G.709-compliant frame format and overhead processing.

  • Provides path monitoring (PM) for ODU0.
  • Provides PM non-intrusive monitoring for ODU0.
  • Provides TCM and PM for ODU1.
  • Provides PM and TCM non-intrusive monitoring for ODU1.
  • Provides PM for ODUflex.
  • Provides SM for OTU1.

Outband DCN

Supports communication over ESCs.

FEC Mode

Supports ITU-T G.709-compliant forward error correction (FEC) encoding on the client side only when receiving OTU1 signals.
