Backplane capacity The total bandwidth is 200 Gbit/s.
Client-side service type
  • 100GE: Ethernet service at a rate of 103.125 Gbit/s
  • OTU4: OTN service at a rate of 111.81 Gbit/s

NOTE:

When 100GE services are received on the client side and mapped into ODUflex, the client equipment must support flow control response.

Service mapping mode 100GE service: Supports Bit Transparent Mapping ODU4, MAC Transparent Mapping ODU4, and MAC Transparent Mapping ODUflex.
FEC coding Supports ITU-T G.709-compliant forward error correction (FEC) on the client side when the client-side service type is OTU4.
OTN overhead
  • Supports overhead processing defined by ITU-T G.709. The service mapping process complies with ITU-T G.709 and G.Sup43.
  • ODU4 layer:
    • Supports PM overhead processing, when the client-side service type is 100GE.
    • Supports PM and TCM overhead processing, and non-intrusive monitoring of PM and TCM overheads, when the client-side service type is OTU4.
  • ODUflex layer:supports PM overhead processing.
  • OTU4 layer: supports SM overhead processing.
LPT Not supported
Client 1+1 protection Supported
ODUk SNCP Supported
Tributary SNCP Supported

NOTE:

Supports the tributary SNCP protection, only when the client side service type is OTU4.

Electrical-layer ASON Supported
L1 Service Encryption Supported

NOTE:

When receiving OTU4 services on the client side, the board does not support the encryption.
ALS Supported on the client side when 100GE services are received.
LLDP Not Supported
Physical clock
  • When receiving 100GE(MAC transparent mapping) services on the client side, the board can support synchronous Ethernet processing.
  • When receiving 100GE(Bit Transparent Mapping) services on the client side, the board can support synchronous Ethernet transparent transmission.
IEEE 1588v2 The board supports the TC, TC+OC, BC, and OC modes when the client-side service type is 100GE(MAC transparent mapping).
ITU-T G.8275.1 Supported

NOTE:

The G402/G404 board supports the BC mode when the client-side service type is 100GE(GFP-F).
ITU-T G.8273.2 Supported

NOTE:

The board does not support ITU-T G.8273.2 when the system control board is U2CTU.
Outband DCN Supported communication over ESCs on the client side when OTU4 services are received.
Test frame Supported when the client-side service type is 100GE.
PRBS
  • When the board receives OTU4 services, the PRBS test function is supported in both the optical port direction and the backplane direction.
  • When the board receives 100GE services, the PRBS test function is supported only in the backplane direction.
Delay measurement
  • When non-OTN services are received on the client side of the board, the PM section latency measurement is supported in the backplane direction (upstream direction).
  • When OTN services are received on the client side of the board, the TCM section latency measurement is supported in the optical port direction (downstream direction).
Channel loopback Not supported
Port loopback
  • Supports inloops and outloops on the client side.
  • Supports ODUk inloops and ODUk outloops on the client side.

NOTE:

  • The board supports ODUk inloop and ODUk outloop only when non-OTN services are received, the port working mode is non-convergence, and bidirectional cross-connections are configured.
  • When the service type is set to None, Inloop, Outloop, and ODUk Outloop are not supported.
  • When non-OTN services are received, the PRBS in the backplane direction can be used only with ODUk loopback.
Alarm and performance event monitoring
  • Monitors bit interleaved parity 8 (BIP8) bytes (Bursty mode) to help locate line failures.
  • Monitors OTN alarms and performance events.
  • Monitors parameters such as the bias current, operating temperature, and optical power of a laser.
  • Provides remote network monitoring (RMON) and measurement functions for Ethernet services.
