TNU5U501 overview

TNU5U501 supports Huawei OptiX OSN 9800 board 1*200G/100G Programmable Hybrid Line Service Processing Board applied to Huawei OptiX OSN 9800 U64/U32/U16/M24.

The TNU5U501 board is a hybrid line board and supports a mixture of OTN, SDH, and packet services.

The TNU5U501 board processes and converts the received service signals into one OTU4/OTUC2 signal, which are carried over ITU-T G.694.1-compliant DWDM wavelengths.

The TNU5U501 board uses coherent receiving technologies and applies to coherent systems.

An optional version of the TNU5U501 is TNU6U501.

NOTE:

The slot ID displayed on the NMS is the ID of the lower one of the two slots occupied by the U501 board in a subrack. For example, when the U501 board occupies slots IU1 and IU13 in a subrack, the slot ID displayed on the NMS is IU1.

In the 1:3 mode, service boards cannot be installed in slots (IU6, IU18) and (IU7, IU19).

OTN functions

Port in 100G mode:

  • Supports the OTU4 interface on the WDM side.
  • Supports the OTN frame format and overhead processing defined by ITU-T G.709.
  • OTU4 layer: supports SM overhead processing.
  • ODUk (k=0, 1, 2, 2e, 3, 4, flex) layer: supports PM and TCM overhead processing, and non-intrusive monitoring of PM and TCM overheads.

Port in 200G mode:

  • Supports the OTUC2 interface on the WDM side.
  • OTUC2 layer: supports SM overhead processing.
  • ODUC2 layer: supports PM and TCM overhead processing.
  • ODUk (k=0, 1, 2, 2e, 3, 4, flex) layer: supports PM and TCM overhead processing, and non-intrusive monitoring of PM and TCM overheads.
WDM specification Supports ITU-T G.694.1-compliant DWDM specifications.
Tunable wavelength function The board supports tunable wavelengths of WDM-side optical signals in Super C band (1524 nm to 1573 nm).
PRBS test function Supports the PRBS function on the WDM side.
Alarm and performance event monitoring
  • Monitors BIP8 bytes (Bursty mode) to help locate line failures.
  • Monitors parameters such as the bias current, temperature, and optical power of the laser.
  • Monitors OTN alarms and performance events.
Regeneration board Supported
Latency measurement The board supports latency measurement in the WDM-side optical port direction (upstream direction).

  • When higher-order ODU4 cross-connections are created on the board, TCM latency measurement is supported for higher-order ODU4 channels. When lower-order ODUk cross-connections are created on the board, PM/TCM latency measurement is supported for higher-order ODU4 channels, and TCM latency measurement is supported for lower-order ODUk channels.
  • The board supports PM and TCM latency measurement at the ODUCn layer.

NOTE:

When VPs are configured, the board supports measuring the PM/TCM latency of higher-order and lower-order ODUk channels.

Protection schemes
  • Supports ODUk SNCP.
  • Supports tributary SNCP protection.
  • Supports intra-board 1+1 protection (when working with the OLP or DCP board).

NOTE:

When the cross-connect granularity is ODUflex, the board does not support tributary SNCP protection.

ODUk SNCP protection and tributary SNCP are not supported when packet services are cross-connected from the backplane.
