TNV3S216 overview

The S216 board is a TDM board. The S216 board can be used on the OptiX OSN 9800 equipment to transmit and receive STM-n (n=1, 4, 16, or 64) optical signals.

  • The S216 board converts the received STM-n optical signals into VC4 and VC-4-Xc (X=4/16/64) signals and sends VC4 and VC-4-Xc (X=4/16/64) signals to the cross-connect side.
  • The S216 board also supports AU-3 services and converts three AU-3 signals into one AU-4 signal.
  • The S216 board supports OTU1 services.

  • OTU1 layer: supports SM overhead processing.
  • ODU1 layer: supports PM and TCM overhead processing, and non-intrusive monitoring of PM and TCM overheads.
  • Processes the section overheads of STM-64/STM-16/STM-4/STM-1 signals.
  • Supports the transparent transmission and termination of the path overheads.
  • Sets and queries J0, J1, and C2 bytes.
  • Supports ECC communication.
  • Supports DCC transparent transmission for a maximum of any sixteen ports. The bytes that are transparently transmitted are D1–D3 and D4–D12.
