Maintenance features

Loopbacks

Pseudo random binary sequence (PRBS) test function

Supports the PRBS test function on the client side only when receiving OTU4 services.

Supports this function when receiving 100GE services on the client side.

Delay measurement (DM)

Supports DM. Specifically, the bidirectional delay between two tributary boards supporting DM can be measured, and the delay data is displayed on the NMS.

NOTE:

  • Supports PM when 100GE services are received on the client side.

  • DM is not supported when the client-side service type is OTU4.

Alarms and performance events monitoring

  • Monitors BIP8 bytes (burst mode) to help locate line failures for 100GE services.
  • Monitors OTN alarms and performance events.
  • Monitors parameters such as the bias current, temperature, and optical power of the laser.
  • Supports Ethernet bandwidth usage of the RMON performance statistics.

OTN Overheads

  • Supports overhead processing defined by ITU-T G.709. The service mapping process complies with ITU-T G.709 and G.Sup43.
  • ODU4 layer:
    • When the client-side service type is 100GE, supports PM overhead processing.
    • When the client-side service type is OTU4, supports PM and TCM overhead processing, and non-intrusive monitoring of PM and TCM overheads.
  • ODUflex layer: supports PM overhead processing.
  • OTU4 layer: supports SM overhead processing.

Outband DCN

Supports ESC communication.

NOTE:

Supported when the client-side service type is OTU4.

FEC Mode

Supports ITU-T G.709-compliant forward error correction (FEC) encoding on the client side only when receiving OTU4 signals.
