TNG1M404DM Overview

TNG1M404DM 4 x 40 Gbit/s Service Multiplexing Into 2 x 100G Wavelength Conversion Board, applied to Huawei OptiX OSN 9800 M24/U32/U64.

To meet ultra-large cross-connect capacity and bandwidth requirements, Huawei presents the OptiX OSN 9800 product series. The OptiX OSN 9800 product series include the OptiX OSN 9800 U64, U32, P18 and universal platform subracks. Applied at the electrical layer, the OptiX OSN 9800 U64 and U32 subracks share boards by using unified software and hardware platforms, and can work with the OptiX OSN 9800 universal platform subrack and P18 subrack, OptiX OSN 8800 platform subrack and T16 subrack, and OptiX OSN 6800 optical subracks in WDM and OTN systems.

The TNG1M404DM board has only one variant: TNG1M404DMC01.

Functions and Features of the TNG1M404DM Board (OTU)
Basic function The board can convert client-side services into OTU signals,the client-side service supports hybrid transmission of different services, for details about the service types, number of channels, and mapping paths supported by different ports, see Applications.
Client-side service type
  • 40GE: Ethernet service at a rate of 41.25 Gbit/s
  • 10GE LAN: Ethernet service at a rate of 10.31 Gbit/s
Service mapping mode
  • 40GE service: Supports TTT-GMP mapping.
  • 10GE LAN service: Supports Bit Transparent Mapping/MAC Transparent Mapping.
WDM specification Supports the DWDM specifications.
Tunable wavelength When a wavelength-tunable optical module is configured, WDM-side optical signals are tunable in Super C band (1524 nm to 1573 nm).
FEC coding WDM side: Supports FEC and SDFEC2 coding.
Line modulation format Supports 100G QPSK and 100G QPSK wDCM.
OTN overhead
  • ODU2 layer: supports PM and TCM overhead processing.
  • ODU3 layer: supports PM and TCM overhead processing.
  • ODUflex layer: supports PM overhead processing.
  • OTU4 layer: supports SM overhead processing.
LPT Supports the LPT function when the client-side service is 10GE LAN.
Intra-board 1+1 protection Supported
NOTE:
Supports intra-board 1+1 protection when working with optical protection boards.
Client 1+1 protection Supported
NOTE:
  • When an MPO optical module is used on the client side, the M404DM board does not support client 1+1 protection.
  • When 40GE services are received on the client side, client 1+1 protection supports bidirectional switching rather than unidirectional switching.

The encryption function cannot be configured for the port where ODUk SNCP is configured. The ODUk SNCP function cannot be configured for the port where encryption function is configured.

Digital optical label When LS Ability is enabled, the board supports loading low-frequency pilot-tone modulation signals and overheads during wavelength conversion, and can work the optical-layer board that supports the digital optical label function to detect optical power and overheads and report optical performance data.
ALS Supports the ALS function on the client side when client services are non-OTN services.
LLDP Supports the LLDP function when the client-side service is 40GE/10GE LAN.
NOTE:
When the service mapping mode is MAC transparent mapping, the LLDP mode of the port is the Receive mode by default. In this case, LLDP packets are not transparently transmitted.
Physical clock
  • Supports synchronous Ethernet processing instead of synchronous Ethernet transparent transmission when receiving 10GE LAN(MAC transparent mapping(10.7G)) services on the client side.
  • Supports synchronous Ethernet transparent transmission instead of synchronous Ethernet processing when receiving 40GE (BMP) services on the client side.
NOTE:
The Bit Transparent Mapping(11.1G IMP+BMP) mode does not support synchronous Ethernet transparent transmission.
IEEE 1588v2 Supported when the client-side service type is 10GE LAN(MAC transparent mapping(10.7G)).

  • Supports PM and TCM latency measurement for upstream higher-order ODU channels.
  • Supports PM and TCM latency measurement for upstream lower-order ODU channels when non-OTN services are received on the client side.
NOTE:
In a mapping path, the maximum granularity ODUk channel is the higher-order ODU channel, and other ODUk channels are lower-order ODUk channels.
Channel loopback
  • Supports inloop and outloop of ODUk (k = 2, 3, flex) channel.
  • Supports inloop and outloop of client-side 10GE service channels.
NOTE:
The board does not support the channel loopback and ODUk loopback at the same time.When a client-side port accesses 4 x 10GE signals, only channel loopback is supported.
Port loopback
  • Supports inloops and outloops on the WDM side.
  • Supports inloops and outloops on the client side.
  • Supports ODUk inloops and ODUk outloops on the client side.
NOTE:
Client-side loopback is not supported when the port accesses 4 x 10GE LAN signals.
Alarm and performance event monitoring
  • Monitors BIP8 bytes (Bursty mode) to help locate line failures.
  • Monitors OTN alarms and performance events.
  • Monitors parameters such as the bias current, temperature, and optical power of the laser.
  • Supports the remote monitoring (RMON) of Ethernet services.
  • Supports the monitoring of CD and PMD performance.
Functions and Features of the TNG1M404DM Board (Regeneration)
Basic function Electrically regenerates optical signals at an electrical REG station.
Regeneration mode Bidirectional relay
NOTE:
In bidirectional regeneration scenarios, Optical Port Speed Mode, Line Code Format, FEC Working State, FEC Type and AFEC Grade on the two regeneration ports must be the same.
