In our daily work, we often receive inquiries from customers about service boards for Huawei OSN1800/6800/8800 series devices.
Before placing an order, customers usually ask a key question:
“Is the service board I’m purchasing compatible with my existing chassis?”
Let’s walk through a real case to explain how to verify compatibility:
Case Background
The customer is using an OSN8800 device and is asking whether the TN11RAU2 board is compatible.
Step 1: Understand What “Compatibility” Means
When we talk about compatibility, we are referring to whether the service board is supported by the system control board’s current software version on the main chassis.
Step 2: Identify the System Control Version
The customer provides the following version: OSN8800 SCC Version 5:51.10.16
This can be converted into the standard Huawei software version: V100R008C10SPC300
Step 3: Check Official Documentation
Now, we refer to Huawei’s official version documentation to check whether TN11RAU2 is supported under V100R008C10SPC300.
Sometimes, the documentation may list the board under a higher version, such as V100R013C10. While this suggests support in newer versions, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s unsupported in older versions.
Based on experience, if the board is supported in a higher version, there’s a good chance it’s also compatible with lower versions—but we still need to confirm.

Step 4: Final Confirmation
Upon checking the documentation for V100R008C10SPC300, we find that TN11RAU2 is listed under the supported boards.
Since TN11RAU201 is a specific model within the TN11RAU2 family, this confirms it is compatible with the customer’s system version.
