Basic function The card provides data packet processing and traffic management on 36 100GE optical ports or 24 200GE optical ports, which can be used as 36 40GE optical ports or split into 144 25GE or 144 10GE optical ports.
Maximum port density If all LPUs are these cards:
  • The CloudEngine 16804 chassis provides a maximum of 144 100GE ports or 96 200GE ports.
  • The CloudEngine 16808 chassis provides a maximum of 288 100GE ports or 192 200GE ports.
  • The CloudEngine 16816 chassis provides a maximum of 576 100GE ports or 384 200GE ports.
100GE port 100GE ports on the card support QSFP28 and QSFP+ optical modules. A 100GE port can be used as a 40GE port through auto-sensing, or split into 4 x 25GE or 4 x 10GE ports. The card can provide a maximum port density of 36 x 40GE, 144 x 25GE, or 144 x 10GE. Each 100GE port can be used as a 40GE port through auto-sensing. Every two ports (0-1, 2-3, 4-5, 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, 16-17, 18-19, 20-21, 22-23, 24-25, 26-27, 28-29, 30-31, 32-33, and 34-35) form a group. The two ports in a group need to be split together, and each port can be split into 4 x 25GE or 4 x 10GE ports.
200GE port 24 ports can work at the rate of 200 Gbit/s and are divided into 12 groups (0 and 1, 2 and 3, 4 and 5, 6 and 7, 12 and 13, 14 and 15, 16 and 17, 18 and 19, 24 and 25, 26 and 27, 28 and 29, and 30 and 31). Such a port works at the rate of 100 Gbit/s by default. You can run the port mode 200GE command to change the port rate to 200 Gbit/s. After the port rate is changed, the port supports QSFP56 optical modules and can work as a 100GE or 40GE port through auto-sensing. The port can be split into two 100GE ports. When the rate is changed for either port in a port group, the other port in the group automatically switches to the same rate. For example, when port 0 is configured to work at the rate of 200 Gbit/s, port 1 is automatically configured to work at the rate of 200 Gbit/s.
Hot swapping Supported
Restrictions and remarks Every 12 ports form a group, and three groups (ports 0 to 11, 12 to 23, and 24 to 31) are involved. Each group has a bandwidth limit.
  • Only the first eight ports in each group can be configured to work at the rate of 200 Gbit/s.
  • In 3+1 SFU mode, the maximum bandwidth of each group cannot exceed 1.2 Tbit/s (for example, 6 x 200 Gbit/s or 12 x 100 Gbit/s).
  • In 4+0 SFU mode, the maximum bandwidth of each group cannot exceed 1.6 Tbit/s (for example, 8 x 200 Gbit/s or 8 x 100 Gbit/s + 4 x 200 Gbit/s).
MACsec Ports 0 to 7, 12 to 19, and 24 to 31 support MACsec. When these ports are configured to work at 40 Gbit/s or are split, MACsec is still supported. Other ports do not support MACsec.
