Description

TN54TSXL Overview

TN53TSXL 40 Gbit/s tributary service processing board applied to OptiX OSN 8800/6800.

The OptiX OSN 8800 Intelligent Optical Transport Platform (OptiX OSN 8800 for short) is a new generation of intelligent MS-OTN product. The OptiX OSN 8800 can interconnect with any product from the OptiX OSN product series, such as the OptiX OSN 1800, to form an end-to-end OTN network. The OptiX OSN 8800 T32/T16 supports unified switching and control based on ODUk, VC, and packets, achieving unified switching and transmission for multiple services on a single multi-service optical transport network (MS-OTN). The OptiX OSN 6800 Intelligent Optical Transport Platform (OptiX OSN 6800 for short) is referred to as Huawei next generation intelligent optical transport platform. The OptiX OSN 6800 is for area backbones, local networks, metropolitan convergence layers and metropolitan core layers. It may also work with other WDM, SDH/SONET equipment to offer a complete Metro WDM solution.

Basic function TSXL converts signals as follows:
  • TN11TSXL:
    • 1 x (STM-256/OC-768)<-> 4 x ODU2
    • Implements the transparent transmission of 40 Gbit/s services in a 10 Gbit/s WDM network.
  • TN53TSXL:
    • 1 x (STM-256/OC-768/OTU3) <-> 1 x ODU3
  • TN54TSXL:
    • 1 x 40GE<->1 x ODU3
Client-side service type
  • STM-256/OC-768: SDH/SONET service at a rate of 39.81 Gbit/s
  • OTU3: OTN service at a rate of 43.02 Gbit/s
  • 40GE: Ethernet service at a rate of 41.25 Gbit/s
Cross-connect capabilities
  • Supports the cross-connection of four channels of ODU2 signals between the TN11TSXL and the cross-connect board.
  • Supports the cross-connection of one channel of ODU3 signals between the TN53TSXL/TN54TSXL and the cross-connect board.
OTN function
  • Supports the OTN frame format and overhead processing by referring to the ITU-T G.709. The mapping process is compliant with ITU-T G.709.
  • Supports PM functions for ODU2.
  • Supports PM, TCM functions for ODU3.
FEC coding Supports ITU-T G.709-compliant forward error correction (FEC) on the client side only when the service on the client side is OTU3.
PRBS test function TN11TSXL/TN54TSXL: Not supported TN53TSXL: Supports the PRBS function on the client side.
LPT function Not supported
Alarm and performance event monitoring
  • Monitors BIP8 bytes (Poisson mode or Bursty mode) to help locate line failures.
  • Monitors B1 bytes to help locate faults.
  • Monitors OTN alarms and performance events.
  • Monitors parameters such as the bias current, temperature, and optical power of the laser.
  • Supports the remote monitoring (RMON) of Ethernet services.
NOTE:
Only TN54TSXL provides remote monitoring (RMON) of the Ethernet service. Only the TN11TSXL/TN53TSXL supports Poisson Mode. Only the TN11TSXL/TN53TSXL board supports laser temperature monitoring. Only the TN11TSXL/TN53TSXL board supports B1 bytes monitoring.
ALS function Supports the ALS function on the client side.

  • Supports tributary SNCP protection.
NOTE:
The TN54TSXL board does not support tributary SNCP.
NOTE:
When the board receives OTN services, SDH/SONET services the board supports tributary SNCP protection.
