TN96NS4T31 100G line service processing board applied to OptiX OSN 8800.

The OptiX OSN 8800 Intelligent Optical Transport Platform (OptiX OSN 8800 for short) is a new generation of intelligent MS-OTN product. The OptiX OSN 8800 can interconnect with any product from the OptiX OSN product series, such as the OptiX OSN 1800, to form an end-to-end OTN network. The OptiX OSN 8800 T32/T16 supports unified switching and control based on ODUk, VC, and packets, achieving unified switching and transmission for multiple services on a single multi-service optical transport network (MS-OTN). The OptiX OSN 6800 Intelligent Optical Transport Platform (OptiX OSN 6800 for short) is referred to as Huawei next generation intelligent optical transport platform. The OptiX OSN 6800 is for area backbones, local networks, metropolitan convergence layers and metropolitan core layers. It may also work with other WDM, SDH/SONET equipment to offer a complete Metro WDM solution.

Differences Between Versions

Board Description
TN96NS4 The TN96NS4 board uses the single-carrier module on the WDM side,it supports 50 GHz and 37.5 GHz channel spacing designs and intra-board 1+1 protection.
TN97NS4 The TN97NS4 board uses dual-carrier module on the WDM side,it supports 100 GHz,50 GHz, and 37.5 GHz channel spacing designs.

Appearance: The panel appearance of the TN97NS4 board is different from that of the TN96NS4 board. The TN97NS4 board provides the IN1/OUT1 and IN2/OUT2 ports, but the TN96NS4 board only provides the IN/OUT ports.

Specification: The specifications vary according to the version of the board that you use.

Functions and features of the NS4 board (Line Mode)
Basic function NS4 converts signals as follows: 80xODU0/80xODUflex/40xODU1/10xODU2/10xODU2e/2xODU3/1xODU4<->1xOTU4 Supports mixed transmission of ODU0, ODU1, ODUflex, ODU2, ODU2e, and ODU3 signals.
Cross-connect capabilities Supports the cross-connection of 80 channels of ODU0/ODUflex signals or 40 channels of ODU1 signals or ten channels of ODU2/ODU2e signals or two channels of ODU3 signals or one channel of ODU4 signals between the NS4 and the cross-connect board.
OTN function
  • Supports the OTU4 interface on the WDM side.
  • Supports the OTN frame format and overhead processing by referring to the ITU-T G.709.
  • OTU4 layer: supports the SM function.
  • ODUk (k=0, 1, 2, 3, 4, flex) layer: supports the PM and TCM function, and PM and TCM non-intrusive monitoring functions.
WDM specification Supports DWDM specifications.
Tunable wavelength function The WDM side optical signals can be carried over wavelengths in the extended C band. TN96NS4:Supports 50 GHz and 37.5 GHz channel spacing designs. A total of 96 wavelengths can be configured for 50 GHz channel spacing and 128 wavelengths for 37.5 GHz channel spacing. TN97NS4:Supports 100 GHz,50 GHz, and 37.5 GHz channel spacing designs. A total of 48 wavelengths can be configured for 100 GHz channel spacing ,96 wavelengths can be configured for 50 GHz channel spacing, and 128 wavelengths for 37.5 GHz channel spacing.
ESC function Supported.
Engineering order wire function Supports transmitting engineering order wire signal(including one E1,one orderwire phone, and one F1) over ESC channels.
PRBS function Supports the PRBS function on the WDM side.

NOTE:
Boards that use different FEC modes cannot interconnect with each other.
Alarms and performance events monitoring
  • Monitors BIP8 bytes (Bursty mode) to help locate line failures.
  • Monitors parameters such as the bias current, temperature, and optical power of the laser.
  • Monitors OTN alarms and performance events.
Regeneration board
  • The WDM-side signals of the TN96NS4T31 board can be regenerated by another TN96NS4T31 board.
  • The WDM-side signals of the TN97NS4T31 board can be regenerated by another TN97NS4T31 board.
