Huawei OptiX OSN 9800 TNG2EROP Enhanced Backward Remote Optical Pump Processing Board

Description

TNG2EROP overview

TNG2EROP Enhanced Backward Remote Optical Pump Processing Boardapplied to Huawei OptiX OSN 9800 M05/M12/M24.

The new generation of “M” series subracks have the characteristics of ultra-large capacity, optoelectronic integration, and compact size. They are suitable for comprehensive carrying application scenarios such as broadband video, mobile backhaul, government and enterprise dedicated lines, and DCI interconnection, providing end-to-end optimal transmission solutions from backbone, aggregation to access. The M24 subrack supports two cross-connection modes, 1:1 and 1:3, which differ in the number of cross-connection board configurations, the number of available service board slots, cross-connection capacity, and application scenarios.

The TNG2EROP board has only one variant: TNG2EROP.

Basic function
  • Supports backward Raman pump control.
  • Integrates with a backward Raman optical amplifier unit to amplify C-band input optical signals, covering wavelengths within the range of 1544.92 nm to 1572.06 nm.
  • Generates high-power pump light and works with the remote RGU to implement long-distance, wide-bandwidth, and low-noise in-service signal optical amplification.
  • Supports the interlock switch. The interlock switch of a LINE port on the panel controls the power-on and power-off of the board and prevents eyes from being injured by laser when a fiber is inserted into or removed from the LINE port.
Working mode Supports the pump power locking mode.
Safe turn-on of the Raman laser When the Raman laser is turned on, the line fiber quality monitoring function is automatically enabled to detect fiber connections and therefore ensure that the laser is properly started, avoiding fiber burning due to inappropriate fiber connections. If the Raman laser fails to be turned on, the line fiber quality monitoring function can be used to further identify fault points.
Quick shutdown of the Raman laser The quick shutdown of the Raman laser is supported. When fiber cut or serious fiber bend occurs within 500 m around the site where the board housing the Raman laser is located, this function ensures that the pump light of the Raman laser is shut down within 200 ms. When a fiber removal or fiber cut occurs beyond 500 m around the site, the implementation of this function is related to the actual line fiber quality.
Online optical performance monitoring Provides an online monitoring optical port. Through this optical port, a small number of optical signals can be output to the optical spectrum analyzer or the optical spectrum analyzer board. In this manner, the spectrum and optical performance of the multiplexed optical signals can be monitored without interrupting services.
Line fiber quality monitoring
  • The line fiber quality monitoring function can be used on the NMS, and the NMS displays monitoring figures and data.
  • This function requires the FD system software license.
Optical Doctor Not supported
FCD function The fiber connection detection (FCD) button and indicator are provided. You can press the FCD button on the front panel to trigger fiber connection detection. The detection process and results can be identified by the FCD indicator blinking frequency and indicator status.
Optical-layer ASON Not supported
Alarm and performance event monitoring Detects the pump driving current, back facet current, pump cooling current, temperature of the pump laser and the ambient temperature of the board.
Dimensions (H x W x D)
  • 237.10 × 61.00 × 220.00 (mm)
  • 9.34 × 2.40 × 8.67 (in.)
Weight
  • 3.58 kg
  • 7.89 lb.
