Functions and Features of the TNG3A204 Board (SDH)
Basic function
  • When the board port works in common line mode: The board performs conversion between SDH signals from the backplane and OTU1/OTU2(e) signals.
  • When the board port works in SDH line mode: The board receives STM services through the port on the front panel, performs O/E conversion to convert the received optical signals into VC signals, and sends the VC signals to the cross-connect side. It also performs E/O conversion on the electrical signals from the cross-connect side and sends the converted optical signals.
Backplane capacity The total backplane bandwidth is 40 Gbit/s.
Service processing Supports the VC-12, VC-3, VC-4 services, VC-4-4c concatenation services, VC-4-16c concatenation services, and VC-4-64c concatenation services.
Overhead processing
  • Processes the section overheads of STM-n (n=1, 4, 16, 64) signals.
  • Supports the transparent transmission and termination of path overheads.
  • Supports the setting and query of the J0, J1, and C2 bytes.
  • Supports ECC communication.
  • Supports DCC transparent transmission.
  • Provides orderwire byte channels.
