Huawei OptiX OSN 9800 TNG3DAFS Extended C-band integrated optical amplifier dual-channel optical line board

Description

TNG3DAFS overview

TNG3DAFSExtended C-band integrated optical amplifier dual-channel optical line board applied  to Huawei OptiX OSN 9800 M05/M12/M24.

The new generation of “M” series subracks have the characteristics of ultra-large capacity, optoelectronic integration, and compact size. They are suitable for comprehensive carrying application scenarios such as broadband video, mobile backhaul, government and enterprise dedicated lines, and DCI interconnection, providing end-to-end optimal transmission solutions from backbone, aggregation to access. The M24 subrack supports two cross-connection modes, 1:1 and 1:3, which differ in the number of cross-connection board configurations, the number of available service board slots, cross-connection capacity, and application scenarios.

The TNG3DAFS board variant is TNG3DAFS02.

Item TNG3DAFS
Basic function Amplifies optical signals over extended C-band wavelengths within the range from 1528.8 nm to 1567.6 nm. Enables the system to transmit services over various fiber spans without electrical regeneration.
WDM specification Supports the DWDM specifications.
Working mode Supports gain locking. The EDFA gain is tunable and the actual gain can be queried.
Gain adjustment Continually adjusts the gain from 21 dB to 23 dB based on the input signal power.
Transient control The EDFA inside the board has the transient control function. When channels are added or deleted, the system can be smoothly upgraded and expanded by suppressing the optical power fluctuation of the channels.
Online optical performance monitoring Provides an online monitoring optical port, through which a small amount of optical signals can be output to the optical spectrum analyzer or optical spectrum analyzer board. The optical spectrum and performance of multiplexed optical signals can be monitored without interrupting services.
Optical Doctor Supported
Optical-layer ASON Not supported
Digital optical label The board can work with the OTU board that supports the digital optical label function to detect digital optical label overheads and optical power:
  • Supports detecting digital optical label overheads on ports OUT1, OUT2, T_OUT1, and T_OUT2. After the Optical Doctor management system license and the OD function are configured, the board provides route visualization and trail verification functions.
  • Supports detecting digital optical label optical power and provides the single-wavelength optical power detection function on ports OUT1, OUT2, T_OUT1, and T_OUT2. After the Optical Doctor management system license and the OD function are configured, the board supports OSNR detection.
Alarm and performance event monitoring
  • Monitors the optical power.
  • Reports the alarms and performance events for the board.

Functions and Features of the TNG3DAFS Board (FIU)

Basic function Multiplexes and demultiplexes the wavelengths on the main optical channel and OSC.

Functions and Features of the TNG3DAFS Board (OSC)

Basic function Receives, transmits, and processes two OSC signals. The OSC has no limitation on the distance between two optical line amplifiers. The failure of an optical line amplifier does not adversely affect the OSC performance.
Operating wavelength of the OSC
  • Supports optical supervisory signal optical modules with 1514 nm and 1506 nm wavelengths.
  • Supports optical supervisory signal optical modules with 1491 nm and 1511 nm wavelengths.

NOTE:
The wavelength of an optical module usually refers to the wavelength at the transmit port.
OSC signal regeneration function The board transmits signals section by section and has the 3R function. The signals can be received, and new supervisory signals can be added.
Line fiber quality monitoring
  • The line fiber quality monitoring function can be used on the NMS, and the NMS will display monitoring figures and data. The online and offline applications of line fiber quality monitoring are supported.
  • The Fiber Doctor Management System Software Fee License needs to be purchased for this function.
Physical clock Supported
IEEE 1588v2 Supported
ITU-T G.8275.1 Supported
ITU-T G.8273.2 Supported
High-precision clock synchronization Supported
NOTE:
  • The NE can implement high-precision time synchronization only after the corresponding license is obtained.
  • To support high-precision clock synchronization, the board must work with the subracks and system control boards that support high-precision clocks. For details, see the Clock Synchronization Feature.
Latency measurement Supports OTS latency measurement.
Loopback Supports outloops.
Dimensions (H x W x D)
  • 237.10 × 30.50 × 220.00 (mm)
  • 9.34 × 1.20 × 8.67 (in.)
Weight
  • 1.70 kg
  • 3.75 lb.
