Huawei OptiX OSN 9800 TNG3WSS0609 Add/drop multiplexing board for wavelength sharing (Extended C-band, 9 rings)

Description

TNG3WSS0609 overview

TNG3WSS0609 Add/drop multiplexing board for wavelength sharing (Extended C-band, 9 rings) applied to Huawei OptiX OSN 9800 M24.

To meet ultra-large cross-connect capacity and bandwidth requirements, Huawei presents the OptiX OSN 9800 product series. The OptiX OSN 9800 product series include the OptiX OSN 9800 U64, U32, P18 and universal platform subracks. Applied at the electrical layer, the OptiX OSN 9800 U64 and U32 subracks share boards by using unified software and hardware platforms, and can work with the OptiX OSN 9800 universal platform subrack and P18 subrack, OptiX OSN 8800 platform subrack and T16 subrack, and OptiX OSN 6800 optical subracks in WDM and OTN systems.

The TNG3WSS0609 board has only one variant: TNG3WSS060901.

Item TNG3WSS0609
Functions and Features of the TNG3WSS0609 Board (OA)
Basic function Amplifies the power of extended C-band optical signals.
Working mode Supports the gain locking, power locking, and APC modes.
  • In gain locking mode, the EDFA gain is tunable and the actual gain can be queried. The gain locking mode is used by default.
  • In power locking mode, the output optical power is locked. When there is no input optical power, there is output optical power.
  • Automatic Power Control (APC) is one type of power locking modes. Compared with traditional power locking, APC gradually increases optical power and has no output optical power if there is no input optical power.
Gain adjustment Continually adjusts the gain from 20 dB to 23 dB based on the input signal power.
Transient control The EDFA inside the board has the transient control function. When channels are added or deleted, the system can be smoothly upgraded and expanded by suppressing the optical power fluctuation of the channels.
Online optical performance monitoring Provides an online monitoring optical port, through which a small amount of optical signals can be output to the optical spectrum analyzer or optical spectrum analyzer board. The optical spectrum and performance of multiplexed optical signals can be monitored without interrupting services.
Optical Doctor Supported
Digital optical label The board can work with the OTU board that supports the digital optical label function to detect digital optical label overheads and optical power:
  • Supports detecting digital optical label overheads on ports RXIN, TXOUT, and OUT. After the Optical Doctor management system license and the OD function are configured, the board provides route visualization and trail verification functions.
  • Supports detecting digital optical label optical power and provides the single-wavelength optical power detection function on ports RXIN, TXOUT, and OUT. After the Optical Doctor management system license and the OD function are configured, the board supports OSNR detection.
Alarm and performance event monitoring
  • Monitors the optical power.
  • Reports the alarms and performance events for the board.
Functions and Features of the TNG3WSS0609 Board (ROADM)
Basic function Implements core service grooming and local wavelength adding/dropping at aggregation sites.
WDM specification Supports DWDM specifications.
Spectrum application
  • Supports extended C band.
  • Supports flexible grid wavelength signals. The channel spacing is n x slice. (The minimum slice is 6.25 GHz. The value of n ranges from 6 to 64. That is, each channel is adjustable within the range of 37.5 GHz to 400 GHz.)
Online optical performance monitoring Provides an online monitoring optical port, through which a small amount of optical signals can be output to the optical spectrum analyzer or optical spectrum analyzer board. The optical spectrum and performance of multiplexed optical signals can be monitored without interrupting services.
NOTE:
The online optical performance monitoring function can be used only for temporary optical performance monitoring when the MONI/MONO power meets the power detection range of the detection instrument or spectrum analysis board. For details about long-term monitoring, see the application scenarios of spectrum analysis boards.
Optical-layer ASON Not supported
Optical power adjustment Adjusts the single-wavelength attenuation to achieve optical power adjustment.
Loopback Not supported.
Alarm and performance event monitoring
  • Monitors the optical power.
  • Reports the alarms and performance events for the board.
Dimensions (H x W x D)
  • 237.10 × 61.00 × 220.00 (mm)
  • 9.34 × 2.40 × 8.67 (in.)
Weight
  • 3.90 kg
  • 8.60 lb.
