TNV5U210 overview

TNV5U210 supports 10*10 Gbit/s Universal Line Service Processing Board applied to Huawei OptiX OSN 9800.

The TNV5U210 board is a universal line board and supports a mix of OTN, SDH and packet services. It can also receive and transmit only one of the three services.

The board processes and converts the received service signals into ten or twenty OTU2/OTU2e signals, which are carried over ten or twenty ITU-T G.694.1-compliant DWDM wavelengths.

An optional version of the TNV5U210 is the TNV6U210.

In the 1:3 mode, service boards cannot be installed in slots (IU6, IU18) and (IU7, IU19).

NOTE:

The slot ID displayed on the NMS is the ID of the lower one of the two slots occupied by the U210/U220 board in a subrack. For example, when the U210/U220 board occupies slots IU1 and IU13 in a subrack, the slot ID displayed on the NMS is IU1.

  • Supports the OTU2 interface on the WDM side.
  • Supports the OTN frame format and overhead processing defined in ITU-T G.709.
  • OTU2 layer: supports SM overhead processing.
  • ODUk (k=0, 1, 2, flex) layer: supports PM and TCM overhead processing, and non-intrusive monitoring of PM and TCM overheads.
  • ODUflex layer: supports PM overhead processing, and non-intrusive monitoring of the PM overhead.
WDM specification Supports ITU-T G.694.1-compliant DWDM specifications.
Tunable wavelength function

Supports tunable wavelength optical modules that provide for:

  • 40 wavelengths tunable in the C band with 100 GHz channel spacing
  • 80 wavelengths tunable in the C band with 50 GHz channel spacing
PRBS test function Supports the PRBS function on the WDM side.
FEC coding
  • Supports ITU-T G.709-compliant forward error correction (FEC) on the WDM side.
  • Supports ITU-T G.975.1-compliant AFEC-2 on the WDM side.

NOTE:

Only ports IN1/OUT1 to IN10/OUT10 of the U220 board support AFEC-2 encoding.

NOTE:

Boards that use different FEC modes cannot interconnect with each other.

Alarms and performance events monitoring
  • Monitors BIP8 bytes (Bursty mode) to help locate line failures.
  • Monitors parameters such as the bias current, temperature, and optical power of the laser.
  • Monitors OTN alarms and performance events.
Regeneration board WDM-side signals from U210/U220 board can be regenerated by another U210/U220 board.

IEEE 1588v2 Supported

NOTE:

  • Only the Huawei mode of IEEE 1588v2 is supported. A maximum of four channels of IEEE 1588v2 clock signals are supported concurrently.
  • On the V5U220 board, only ports IN1/OUT1 to IN15/OUT15 support IEEE 1588v2.
G.8275.1 Supported

NOTE:

  • Only the Huawei mode of G.8275.1 is supported. A maximum of four channels of G.8275.1 clock signals are supported concurrently.
  • On the V5U220 board, only ports IN1/OUT1 to IN15/OUT15 support G.8275.1.
G.8273.2 U210/U220 supports G.8273.2 only in M24 subracks.

Protection schemes
  • Supports ODUk SNCP.
  • Supports tributary SNCP protection.
  • Supports intra-board 1+1 protection (when working with the OLP or DCP board).

NOTE:

When the cross-connect granularity is ODUflex, the board does not support tributary SNCP protection.

ODUk SNCP protection and tributary SNCP are not supported when packet services are cross-connected from the backplane.
