Description

H801SCUN is a main control card of Huawei OLT MA5680T, MA5683T; it is the core of the system control and service switching and aggregation.

 

Provide 480G switching capacity (active/standby mode), MAX access 8192 subscribers. SCUN has two hardware versions, H801SCUN and H802SCUN, basically no difference between these two versions.

  • Supports integrated optical copper access for GPON, P2P, xDSL, and voice services.
  • Supports 480 Gbit/s (active/standby mode), 960 Gbit/s (load sharing mode) switching capacity.
  • Supports active/standby mode and load sharing mode, doubling processing performance.
  • Supports ISSU, saving the upgrade interruption time.
  • Supports 1588v2, and 1588 ACR by working together with the H801CKMD daughter board.
  • Supports interfaces CON (RJ-45), ETH (RJ-45), ESC (RJ-45).
  • Supports Communication Interfaces TX0 RX0 to TX3 RX3 (4 x SFP GE ports).

What management and software features are supported?

The device supports IPv4/IPv6 dual stack, QoS, VLAN and QinQ, IGMP/MLD, OAM, remote maintenance, and full compatibility with Huawei NMS platforms.

Does the MA5600 Series support IPv6? Will software upgrades be required?

Yes. IPv6 is supported when:
The control board runs a software version that includes IPv6 features.
ONUs/ONTs support IPv6 (bridge or routing mode).
The broadband service is configured for IPv6 address assignment (SLAAC/PD/DHCPv6).
A unified IPv6 plan is recommended to avoid routing inconsistencies.

Can the MA5600 Series interoperate with third-party ONUs/ONTs?

Yes, as long as both sides comply with ITU-T G.988 OMCI standards.
However, advanced functions such as Wi-Fi, VoIP, TR-069, and custom VLAN templates may behave differently.
A full OMCI interoperability and service verification test is strongly recommended before large-scale deployment.

Which software version should be used? Is upgrading to the latest version necessary?

For carrier networks, the priority is:
1. Version stability
2. Board compatibility
3. Feature consistency with existing equipment
Use a widely deployed, mature version rather than the newest release. Always prepare a rollback plan before upgrading

What is the maximum access capacity supported by the MA5608T chassis?

Depending on installed service boards, the MA5608T can support up to:
1. 4,096 GPON subscribers (with typical 1:64 split ratio)
2. 2 service slots for PON boards
Actual capacity depends on optical budget, splitter design, and upstream network planning.
