MA5800 FAQ

Hello, everyone!

Do you sometimes face the following problems? For example:

  • Can the Boards on the MA5600T Be Used on the MA5800
  • Can the 10G PON Board Work with the PON ONU
  • How to Switch 10GE Upstream Transmission to GE Upstream Transmission of   the Upstream Port on the MA5800
  • Why Is an Error Message Displayed When the MA5800 Is Added to the U2000

I’ll answer these questions for you in this post.

Can the Boards on the MA5600T Be Used on the MA5800

Question

Can the boards on the MA5600T be used on the MA5800?

Question

How to Switch 10GE Upstream Transmission to GE Upstream Transmission of the Upstream Port on the MA5800

Question

How to switch 10GE upstream transmission to GE upstream transmission of the upstream port on the MA5800?

Answer

On the MA5800, both the control board and the upstream board can be used for 10GE/GE upstream transmission. By default, the device uses 10GE for upstream transmission. You can set the upstream port by running speed command.

To avoid communication failures, the rate of the upstream port must be the same as that of the port on the interconnected device.

Why Is an Error Message Displayed When the MA5800 Is Added to the U2000

Question

Why is an error message displayed when the MA5800 is added to the U2000?

Answer

The U2000 V200R014C60 and later versions support the MA5800. It is recommended that you use the NMS version matched with the MA5800 version.

The MA5800 V100R020C00 and later versions doesn’t support U2000.
