TNG6WBRPC Overview

TNG6WBRPC Super C+L-band Backward Raman Pump Board.

To meet ultra-large cross-connect capacity and bandwidth requirements, Huawei presents the OptiX OSN 9800 product series. The OptiX OSN 9800 product series include the OptiX OSN 9800 U64, U32, P18 and universal platform subracks. Applied at the electrical layer, the OptiX OSN 9800 U64 and U32 subracks share boards by using unified software and hardware platforms, and can work with the OptiX OSN 9800 universal platform subrack and P18 subrack, OptiX OSN 8800 platform subrack and T16 subrack, and OptiX OSN 6800 optical subracks in WDM and OTN systems.

The TNG6WBRPC board has only one variant: TNG6WBRPC01.

Basic function
  • Supports backward Raman pump control.
  • Integrates with a backward Raman optical amplifier unit to amplify Super C band and Super L band input optical signals.
  • Generates multi-channel pump light of high power, providing energy for the amplification of signals in the fiber.
  • Implements distributed online amplification of signals over long distance with wide bandwidth and low noise.
WDM specification Supports the DWDM specifications.
Raman working mode Supports the gain locking. The gain locking mode applies to multi-span or single-short-span systems. Currently, C+L-band systems do not support ultra-long single-span transmission. In maximum gain mode or pump power locking mode, dummy light cannot be automatically deployed or commissioned.
NOTE:
The gain locking mode involves the following types of fibers:
  • Supported: G.652
  • Not supported: G.653/G.656/G.654A/G.654B
  • Disabled: G.655 (including LEAF/TW-C/TW+/TW-/TWRS/Trealight/LS)
Raman gain adjustment Supports continuous gain adjustment within the allowed gain ranges based on input optical power.
NOTE:
Users can separately configure the gain adjustment point only for the Raman amplifier and EDFA on the NMS.
Safe turn-on of the Raman laser
  • When the Raman laser is turned on, the line fiber quality monitoring function is automatically enabled to detect fiber connections and therefore ensure that the laser is properly started, avoiding fiber burning due to inappropriate fiber connections.
  • If turning on the Raman laser fails, the line fiber quality monitoring function can be used to further identify fault points.
Online optical performance monitoring Provides an online monitoring optical port (MON). Through this optical port, a small number of optical signals can be output to an optical spectrum analyzer or an optical spectrum analyzer board. In this manner, the spectrum and optical performance of the multiplexed optical signals can be monitored without interrupting services.

  • Detects and reports optical power levels.
  • Monitors the temperature of the pump laser.
  • Detects the drive current, pump cooling current, and temperature of the pump laser and the ambient temperature of the board.
